چکیده

Theoretical arguments and calculations are presented concerning atomic orbital-based population analyses, as well as the way they are affected by rigid rotation of the molecule. It was recently shown that the Löwdin distribution of atomic charges (atomic populations computed in a Löwdin-orthogonalized basis) is, in general, not rotationally invariant unless an initial atom-centered basis of pure spherical harmonics is used or the atomic orbitals on the same atom are pre-orthogonalized. In the present work, we compare the effect of linear transformations of the initial basis on charges within a series of organic, transition metal, and actinide compounds that have been computed in a basis containing either the Cartesian 6d and 10f orbitals or the pure spherical harmonics (5d, 7f components), respectively. Löwdin populations obtained without pre-orthogonalization are orientationally dependent when computed in the 6d-, 10f-component basis and the asymmetric distribution of the Löwdin atomic charges among symmetry-equivalent atoms is observed. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Effect of Relocation and Rotation on Radial Efficiency Scores for a Partially Negative Data Problem

Negative data handling has gained a remarkable importance in the literature of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to address many real life problems. Various erstwhile applications, in this arena, referred relocation of the origin to a superior (RDM) or to an inferior (Translated Input Oriented BCC) neighboring point. In this paper, the conditions for Rotation Invariance of various Data Envelop...

A New Neural Network Architecture for Rotationally Invariant

This paper i n d u c e s a new neural network architecture for rotationally invariant object recognition. Second-order neurons are used in combination with polar sampling to obtain invariance without incurring excessive network size. Multiple experiments are presented demonsmting that incorporation of a variable range of rotational invariance results in impved performance over existing methods.

Two-dimensional DOA Estimation in Monostatic MIMO Radar with Double Parallel Uniform Linear Arrays using Propagator Method

In this paper, we propose a low complexity two-dimensional direction of arrival (2D-DOA) estimation in monostatic multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar with double parallel uniform linear arrays. The proposed algorithm uses propagator method (PM), which does not require any eigen-value decomposition of the covariance matrix and singular value decomposition of the received data, obtains cl...

Immediate effects of femoral external rotational and abductoral taping on ground reaction force characteristics during running

Introduction and aim: Taping is a common method used by athletes to improve muscular function. The aim was to assess the immediate effect of femoral external rotational and abductoral taping on three-dimensional ground reaction force characteristics, their time to peak, impulse, displacement of center of pressure, vertical loading rate, and free moment during stance phase of running. Method: 24...
